How It Works
Step 1: Submit Application – Deadline July 30, 2018
Visit the Form page and submit your Name, Email, Company Name (if any), Bay City Address, Email, Business Stage, Phone Number.
Step 2: Application Process
After online submission, you will receive communication for verification of eligibility and link to pay $50 application fee.
Step 3: Kickoff Meeting and Presentation Milestones Delivered
On Monday July 16 at 12:00pm, Tuesday, July 17 at 4:30pm, and August 2 at 4:30pm a Kickoff meeting will be held at CMURC Uptown Bay City where you will receive a welcome packet with important templates, dates and details. The kickoff meeting is not required but highly recommended to ensure participants understand expectations and timeline of the competition deliverables.
Step 4: Pitch and Executive Summary Development
Entrepreneurs will be given milestones to complete in three phases. Phase 1 Pitch must be delivered and approved by August 13, 2018. From there, Phase 2 Pitch delivered and approved by September 17, 2018. Final Pitch Deck presentation and five-page Executive Summary Delivered and approved by October 15, 2018. There will be ongoing daily events, resources and opportunities available for you to further develop your idea, refine your Pitch Deck and build a five page Executive Summary.
A strong Pitch Deck will be presented in PowerPoint format. Finalists will be delivered a template pitch deck to communicate details including Problem, Solution, Benefit, Technology, Market, Competition, Milestones/Traction, Revenue Model, Marketing and Sales Strategy, Team and Roles, and Ask. Must be no longer than 10 minutes.
Step 5: Finalists Announced
By October 19, the top 10 finalists will be announced and invited to participate in the Pitch a Dream competition on November 1. It is mandatory to present in person for the competition. All finalists will have access to the Scorecard to help understand the criteria judges will be looking for.
