How It Works
Step 1: Submit Application – Deadline August 11th, 2019
Visit the Form page and submit your Name, Email, Company Name (if any), Bay City Address, Email, Business Stage, Phone Number.
Step 2: Application Process
After online submission, you will be contacted and given further information.
Step 3: Kickoff Meeting and Presentation Milestones Delivered
On June 27, 2019 (4:30-5:30pm), July 15,2019 (12-1pm), August 6, 2019 (5-6pm) and August 8, 2019 (4-5pm) a Kickoff meeting will be held at CMURC Uptown Bay City where you will receive a welcome packet with important templates, dates and details. The kickoff meeting is not required but highly recommended to ensure participants understand expectations and timeline of the competition deliverables.
Step 4: Pitch and Executive Summary Development
Entrepreneurs will be given milestones to complete in three phases. Phase 1 Pitch must be delivered and approved by September 9th, 2019. From there, Phase 2 Pitch delivered and approved by September 30th, 2019. Final Pitch Deck presentation and five-page Executive Summary Delivered and approved by October 28th, 2019. There will be ongoing daily events, resources and opportunities available for you to further develop your idea, refine your Pitch Deck and build a five page Executive Summary.
A strong Pitch Deck will be presented in PowerPoint format. Finalists will be delivered a template pitch deck to communicate details including Problem, Solution, Benefit, Technology, Market, Competition, Milestones/Traction, Revenue Model, Marketing and Sales Strategy, Team and Roles, and Ask. Must be no longer than 10 minutes.
Step 5: Finalists Announced
By November 4th, the top 10 finalists will be announced and invited to participate in the Pitch a Dream competition on November 12th. It is mandatory to present in person for the competition. All finalists will have access to the Scorecard to help understand the criteria judges will be looking for.
